Burning Man
Burning Man is an annual event that takes place in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada, USA. The event is known for its emphasis on community, art, self-expression, and self-reliance. It attracts tens of thousands of participants each year, who create a temporary city called “Black Rock City” in the desert for a week-long celebration.
At the center of the event is the burning of a large wooden effigy, which symbolizes the culmination of the week’s events and the release of creative energy. In addition to the burning, participants create and display a wide variety of art installations, music performances, and interactive experiences throughout the city.
Project description
Burning Man is also known for its “Leave No Trace” policy, which requires participants to clean up and remove all traces of their presence from the desert when the event is over. The event has inspired a global community of Burners, who gather throughout the year to create art and participate in events that promote the values of Burning Man.
